The beautiful Down Hall, set in the stunning Essex countryside was the venue chosen by Melanie and Lee for their wedding. The weather forecast for the week was pretty uncertain and unable to make up its mind for the 31st, and so as the day dawned and the most beautiful, brilliant blue sky was on display, we were filled with hope. As it turned out, the weather was glorious and we could not have asked for a better day. The dressing rooms were bustling with activity as Melanie and her bevy of bridesmaids made their preparations, with much fun and laughter and at times emotions were running high, there were some truly sweet emotional moments between Melanie and her daughter Millie and Mel's sister Sarah - it's always such a privilege for me to be able to documents such touching occasions. As the morning progressed, Lee and the rest of their friends and family arrived and were soon waiting in anticipation for the ceremony to begin. The bouquets and floral arrangements in the ceremony room and banqueting hall looked and smelled amazing - another wonderful job by the fabulous ladies at Springfield Florist. Following the lovely and very emotional ceremony (which as predicted was also full of fun and laughter!) as a surprise for Melanie, Lee had arranged for the UK Gospel Choir to sing 'All You Need Is Love' as they made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife, The guests were then treated to a drinks reception to beautiful soulful singing from the choir, with a few guests joining in! We then popped out for a short while to capture some relaxed portraits as the newly married couple had a chance to catch their breaths and enjoy a few moments alone. It was then time to head over to the banqueting hall for the wedding breakfast, with all the guest enjoying a quick shot (the favours) and a toast! After the wedding breakfast followed the most heartfelt set of speeches from Lee and Melanie’s Dad (who doubled up as Lees best man for the day), roars of laughter and then not a dry eye in the house! We were then gifted the most glorious of sunsets and headed out for a few final portraits. Then it was time to party! and didn't they do it well - check out the photos at the end!
Congratulations Melanie & Lee - thank you for making me feel so very welcome and I wish you both every happiness in your new lives together in Spain.
